Internal arrow footing jig

I got one of these through Braveheart Archery and ready to give it a try.
The instructions say to use a "nail" or wire but I was wondering what size/type of nail or wire would be most effective. I read somewhere about using lead wire for weight gain. I would like to know what size/gauge of wire to use and where to get it.
Also, what kind of glue or adhesive did you use on the insert?

You could use the drill bit as a guide. Just bring with you to the hardware stove and match the nail or wire to it. Just a suggestion for yea.

1/8" rods is what I use...usually steel or a fiberglass composite...sometimes brass. I use a quality hot melt to put in the footings.

A ten penny nail is the perfect diameter. 1/8 brass rod can be bought at Lowes. As far as lead I got some from Rick Stillman of The Feathered Shaft. I like the lead the best it has the most weight per inch of anything I have tried. Does not add strength, but weight. As far as glue I have used epoxy and gel super glue with great results.
