Could you buy a "landowner" tag?  Are they transferable?  I did this the first year I went to Kansas. Expensive but I did get a tag.  Like I won the lotto when I drew the second year...

John as far as I know there are no landowner tags that are transferable.   My buddy owns land there (but lives in WI) and has family there and he cannot get tag unless he draws as a non-res.

The only special tags I know of are governors tags which the gov. uses to promote the state.  I assume most go the the big video guys that don't live there.

Now if you are a resident, there are cheap tags-o-plenty.

John if you are REALLY hot to go...that auction site usually has 2 or 3 special charity tags but the last ones all went for over $9k each.

Like Dave says, even non resident landowners have to go thru the draw...I have a buddy who owns 8,ooo acres and pays taxes on and he can't hunt his own land.

WOW!!

I could go on ALOT of bowtrips for 9K...!

I paid $630.00 for a tag in Kansas the year I didn't draw and thought I was a bit crazy for doing so...

9K for one deer tag...  WOW again!

Hey Biggie...I told you that if you drew an Iowa tag this year, and that if I were hunting anywhere nearby...I would buy dinner one night.  Whew..guess I saved a little money there!  Actually, I did not draw one either.  Decided to just get another pref. point since I have had a few interesting hunting options develop for me in Illinois this year.  More than likely, I'll be there next year, and so will you, so my offer still stands!
