St. Joseph, Missouri?
« on: July 22, 2010, 06:20:00 PM »
I may be getting a job-related transfer to the St. Joseph, Missouri area and was wondering if anyone had information to share regarding trad archery clubs, contacts, archery shops, etc.  I have been wanting this transfer for several years and I can't hardly wait to see if it really happens.  Thanks in advance for your info.

Welcome to the ShowMe State! Just south of St. Joe is Pigeon Hill CA! They have an Archery Range and shooting range for firearms. Bluff Woods CA is close and has about 2700 acres of rough country to hunt on! "The Nocking Point" on the Kansas side will have all you need as for as Trad. gear! (Easton KS) Mike Horton owner!

I couldn't agree more about Mike and Brenda being good people. Most of the time Mike has all your needs on hand.

Welcome to the "Show-me" State!

You will not want for good hunting.

NEMO
Northeast Missouri Archery

Has a monthly 3D shoot and a nice range.
Come up to Nauvoo on Labor Day and shoot in the Archery tournament. Separate section for Trad Shooters, prizes and you're in the middle of Historic Nauvoo and the 3 day grape festival

I know what you guys mean about The Nocking Point.  I've been doing business with them for a while now.  It's good to hear about the bow range being close, I need all the practice I can get.    :archer2:

When you get there look up Rick Roe. He shoots both Trad and wheels and is a great guy.
I think you will find the hunting there very rewarding!

St Joe is a short(relatively speaking)pull from there. I'm in the center of the state but we are blessed with a ton of public hunting in my area and you're more than welcome to come try it out with me anytime you feel the need for some new hunting grounds.

I live 10 minutes north of St.Joe, there's a couple shops around that I know of that you can get information on 3D shoots around here. Vic's archery in St.Joe and Big Bird's archery ( I think it's still called that) up in Maryville. Mike at The Nocking Point in Winchester,Ks is a good guy and generally has anything you'd need. Pigeon Hill CA is where they hold 3D matches through Vic's and a 50yd bow range. The Maryville shoots are out around Maitland which is west of Maryville. If you need anymore info just PM me and I'll see what I can find out for you.

Here is a link I use to find 3D shoots.  You can go by zip code radius, club name, etc.

   http://www.3dshoots.com/search_3d_archery.html

Here is the search results for a 50 mile radius of St. Joe.

Thanks for the info everyone.

Mudd:  I may take you up on the offer to come hunt with you.  I love a good hunting dog as much as a good bow and I would love to see your Liar dog.

Aeronut:  Don't you belong to the Prairie Traditional archers as well?

Thumper15:  Do you live around the Savannah area?  My wife has fallen in love with that town.
