70gr 2 blade BH??
« on: July 22, 2010, 09:02:00 PM »
Can anyone tell me where I might find a 70gr 2 blade BH? I posted last nite looking for help but can't seem to find the thread on here anymore??? I'm shooting a 43@27 longbow with 5/16 POC spined at 30-35. With the 70 grain point they fly great..

Magnus 85 gr, 5/16 is the lightest glue on I've seen.  I'm not sure how much extra spine you might need, maybe none.  What is your total arrow weight?

Call Nick at Steelforce and ask if he can make something out of his 75gr phathead blade. He makes a glue on head, so he may be able to do something custom.

Thanks Mojo I might have to give him a call. Think I will call Mike at Magnus to see if he has anything stock first???  Don't really want to spend alot of money on these 2 dzn. After they are gone I am going to bump up spine to 11/32 POC 40-45. That I already got.. Ttey are shooting alot slower then the 5/16th's.At 20yrds they are dropping about 4 inches

I've seen Magnus II 100 grain screw in's before... if one removed the insert usually 25 grains or so for the short one... you're at 75... and a little sharpening... you'd be there or real close...

Here's a link to them at 3 Rivers

350-400 gr seems pretty light for hunting deer size game with, esp shooting low 40's.  I would want something heavier for sure.

I have some 5/16 Sitka Spruce that spine 40-44 and weigh around 300 gr.  They ought to be about right with a 125 gr point.  That is still only about 425 gr total, tho.

I went ahead and set the bow up with 11/32 POC 40-45 with a 145 tip. Arrow comes out to about 490gr.
Anyone want to buy some POC 30-35 arrows and shafts with point for cheap? lol
