Old Bow- New life
« on: July 28, 2010, 06:00:00 PM »
Here is a couple of pictures that JeffB shared with me all the way from New Zealand.

I found an old Shakespear Parabow that was as sound as it was ugly but it proved out to be a very quiet and good littler shooter.

Knowing that Jeff couldn't have a bow over 60" because of regulations, I decided to see if I could clean it up. After a few hours of sweat equity and some good paint. It looked like an almost new bow so I made a new Flemish string for it. I had a few problems with the string staying on at 1st but a few passes with a small round file and it was holding the string on even as far back as I could physically pull the bow.

I decided it would do. I never checked the weight on it but I sure knew I wouldn't have been afraid to have tried it out on our whitetail.

I made the decision right then I was going to send it to him. I was hoping he would like it. You never know about whether or not some folks will like or shoot an all fiberglass bow but I figured it was worth the effort to try.

Well I think I can say with some assurance that it will work for him.

Thanks for looking.

God bless,Mudd

There is a heap of goodheartedness in ye, Mudd, and a like amount over there on the other side of the world. Does my heart good to see you two engaged in a bit of a balancing act. Sorta keeps this spinning globe on track.

Thank you Jeff!

I look forward to trying out a Lakota quiver.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I am the one who is blessed when I can share with someone else. I had a great time waiting for it arrived because Jeff had no idea what I had sent him. All I told him ahead of time was that I had come across something that had impressed me and that I thought he would like it as well.

I would have loved to have been there when he opened the box.But the pictures Jeff sent me were almost as good.

God bless,Mudd
