Those of you who have the bow bolt td system on your bows does the bow bolt need lubrication? If it does what do you use?
Thanks

I've used a little dab of white lithium grease and also used some Loctite brand anti-seize, neither one have any smell and are thick not runny. You don't need to use much at all! I hardly ever take my limbs off, just check for a loose bolt occasionally.

I have had a couple Bow Bolt TDs and never received any advice to lubricate. So I assume its not necessary. But I could be wrong.I have not needed to lube mine up for smooth functioning so far.

It's stainless and won't rust so you don't need to lube. Remember, it stays tight because of friction at the threads so I don't recommend using a lube. It is better to have it go together a little tight than to have it loosen because of lube. The important thing is to keep it as clean as possible when apart. For the last several years, I've included a cap for the male end and a plug for the female. Your bowyer should have included them. Best way to keep it clean is to keep it together. When you're traveling, use the plugs or a plastic bag to keep the ends clean.

Well there you go, straight from the horse's mouth. I have two bow bolt bows and love the TD system. Thanks for the info Craig.

Great system, I wish more bowyers offered it as an option.

Mike, I DO find lubrication necessary, but only a little, and not on the metal bolt.
Sometimes I don't quite get a full alignment when I twist to lock. So what I do is to lubricate the black faces that butt against each other.
I just use some skin oil from my forehead (gross, I know), or some spit or very tiny amount of vaseline or vegetable oil. Dab on the black friction faces and the twist alignment comes easy.
What a great invention! Brilliant!

All I've ever done was wipe it down with some paste wax. Worked great.
