VPA Terminator Broadheads
« on: August 07, 2010, 01:37:00 PM »
Anyone have any experience shooting these heads? I'm mostly interested in the 150gr. solid (non-vented) head and was wondering if anyone had issues with wind planing from the solid blades? It appears the 3Rivers Woodsman, the Kustom King Trailmaker, and The VPA heads are all very similar, possibly made by the same manufacturer, as steels and specs are the same.

I've taken deer and Eastern turkeys with 250 grain VPAs.  Great heads and fly like darts.  They spin true with zero wind planning issues with a tuned bow.

I am under the impression they are the same broadhead.  I have some WW and VPAs and, other than color, can't see any diffence.  Using 175gr.  Fly better than any two blade I have ever shot.  Taking mine black bear hunting in 3 weeks.

I've used the VPA 190 glue-ons and they really are an excellent broadhead.  They are very well made, very consistent and the ferrules are TRUE!  I've had no planing or flight issues with them, they sharpen beautifully and hold their edge very well.  I won't say they are bulletproof, but I haven't managed to damage one yet.  I believe you will be quite pleased.

they are the same. VPA makes the WW
TGMM-Family of the Bow

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

I have some 175 and 200 gr screw ins. They look like a solid well built head and fly fantastic. Very easy to sharpen too. I haven't shot them into any animals yet but I hope I do this yr. They look like they'll hold up real well.

Local shop has them in stock, but no reports from the locals yet. Figured somebody would get a pack and try them on a woodchuck or sumpthin'.

The only negative I can see in them is the ferrule is prone to bending in my experience. Other than that they fly great and are very easy to sharpen. I think they were trying to strengthen the ferrule last year but I don't know if they ever were able to solve the problem.

I have released two at big game, and have two animals to show for them.

One muley and one javelina, both dead within sight.

The javelina was shot at about 60" and was on a trot, I hit it well behind and high of where I wanted (liver and kidney) but the three blades bled her and a heart shot wouldn't have put her down faster.

Without a doubt the best multi-blade I have tried.  If they would dump marketing money into their product they'd own the fixed blade market...
Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!
