would you bother to carry a blind fabic?

I was looking at some blind fabric that is made for  waterfowl hunters and it seemed like a good thing to have in the elk woods. Often I  thought a ground blind would be nice in a spot that didn't lend itself to making one from the surrounding flora, or when a quick set up/take down would be a good feature. I don't want to spend a lot of time making a blind and certainly don't want to carry anything that is bulky or heavy.

The stuff I looked at was die cut camo and a piece 60 inches x 12 foot weighed next to nothing and folded small.

I’ve never carried anything for blind setup while elk hunting, but I do when I plan to deer hunt from the ground. What I carry is this. This material is very lightweight, goes up quick and seems to be effective. I also carry three small bow hooks to screw into a tree if I need something to hold the ends up. This stuff is light enough that it can usually be hung from the limbs of small trees and underbrush and the sag in the middle can be eliminated with a couple of sticks.

I use one of these ( sometimes 2) and really like it. You do have to be a little careful when pulling the stakes out so as not to pull the fabric from the poles. The poles are like carbon arrows and they fit in a sleeve. If you pull one out the blind is still very useable. Just put the pole back in the sleeve for the hunt. Glue it back in when you get home.
It makes a BIG difference that it is adjustable in height.

Great suggestions! I forgot to mention it cost under 15 dollars.

Another plus.

I like the screw hook idea. There is a wallow I want to set up on and it does not offer cover but does offer a place to stretch a blind 'tween trees.

I can buy leafy wear camo and other patterns from a local tarp/blind, canopy maker for cheap. I get 4 or 6 fiberglass electric fence poles and cut slits int the fabric to slide the poles through it, hot melt glue the top and bottom, and on each end. It rolls up in a 3""x4ft roll,with 2 big rubber bands around it. I sharpen the ends of the poles on a belt sander before assembling. YOu can just unroll, stick in the ground, an adjust you height by pulling the poles closer together and letting the material sag if you want to. I made 3 of these for$35 total. If you want a sling, cut a piece of rope or leather shoe string  and tie to each end, throw across your back.
