straight limb or slight reflex longbows?
« on: August 07, 2010, 11:16:00 PM »
as of late i have been getting in to D bows. i am looking for a nice reverse riser, or normal riser straight/reflex limb longbow. i have a northern mist whisper, and love it but wanted to see what was out there.  really interested to hear you guys's recomendations. especially on the reverse risers.

I gotta show this riser. This is the best longbow shooter I've got.

Real quiet and no hand shock. Very accurate. Better bow than I am an archer.

Nice bow. Love reverse riser. i am most accurate with my J.D. berry taipan. which is a reverse riser. i am also pretty good with my NorthernMist Whisper. just a little heavy for my taste. just something about a reverse riser. thanks for posting

Bob Sarrels, Austin TX, makes a great reverse grip riser, too.

I was lucky enough to win a Sarrels bow at a 3 D shoot/Raffle. 58" 53# at 28" Recurve. It is a fast, fast, smooth, smooth shooter.

I shot one of his reverse grip bows. It was just freakishly good. I will look up his info.

Oh, I think he calls the reverse grip the "Wildcat"? Anyway, you will need to cotact him for pictures of the reverse grip.

Again, the one I shot was freaky good.

Big River bows by John McDonald, he makes great mild D&R and Hill style bows.

Shawn, here's a couple pics of my Hill Country "hunter" longbow. I like this bow so much I just ordered another. The new one will be made from exotics, the one pictured is all actionwood with actionboo cores. Roman doesn't have a website but can be contacted for brochures.
