Awakening the Carnivore

I just introduced my 5 year old son Jack to grilled venison backstrap and tenderloin. He's never been a huge fan of meat, but he was all over the venison like a wild beast! He asked, "Daddy, what kind of animal am I eating?" I told him it was a deer, and he started yelling, "I'm a cougar, I'm a cougar!" Cracked me up...
Of course, the big sisters already knew about it, but were hoping he wouldn't want any.

LOL.."the big sisters already knew about it, but were hoping he wouldn't want any."
I always knew that women folks could be greedy but to wish that the lad wouldn't like it... just tell them you can cook them some extra or that they could learn to hunt their own..lol But they should let the young man eat all he wants.
God bless,Mudd

LOL - yep he is a cougar ! Now teach him to feed you and his sisters
I don't know if was the truth or folklore; but back in the seventies there was a story about a guy who moved out west; and shot an elk every year; and his son grew up eating elk.
The guy helped a neighbor with cattle ; and came home with some nice angus steaks.
The story is that the kid spat out the steer meat and said: " Dad - you got a bad elk here !".

Raised my two sons on venison- I doubt they ever had a beef steak at home, or a beef burger. They're grown men now, but still prefer it. One of their favorites was "steak worms", when their mom would stir-fry strips of deer steak.
