Tell him to check out Gordy Morey (sp?) of Lightning Longbows, he makes a real nice bow and probably has the low down on the trad archery scene in and around Vegas.

We have a couple of ranges one open to the public and one up on the mountain that is part of Las Vegas Archers The huntin is sparse but we have a gillion acres of BLM land to stump shoot in. There are not a lot of trad shooters but a few.
Have him check out Bass Pro and Pacific Archery.Have him give me a shout I will be glad to show him what we have.

If he goes North to REno he can stop by to see Tim Meigs in Carson City.  Rick at House of Arrows has a lot of nice trad gear-he is in Sparks, next to Reno.
The Fish and Game guys just published thier report and deer are down-al other big game, sheep (3kinds), goats, elk, antelope and lion appear to be up.  He'll have to wait til next year to put in for tags.
Cast a long shadow-you may provide shade to someone who needs it.  Semper Fi

Cottontails too,but there is a season on them.
Target archery is seeing how far away you can get and still hit the bull's eye. Bowhunting is seeing how close you can get and never miss your mark.

Mike
There are quite a few Jacks down around Searchlight. Lots of carp in the lake. It is going to be a shock to him moving from a place like Ohio where it is green to this desert.
