Hybrid question
«

I guess I must be a nontrad trad shooter! I've been working on getting my recurves quieter and have gotten them way quieter than they were before Hush Puppies and Bow Hush. But now I'm wondering if the longbows wouldn't be even quieter. The rub is that I really like the grips and riser mass on recurves. Who is making the best hybrids, in y'all's expert opinions? I'm looking at the Habu Viperkahn, but they are kinda pricey. That won't be the deciding factor, but will still be a factor...along with waiting period. Thanks!

I love the Hybrids, and 3pc Longbows! Along with D/R Bows. The more extreme the limb profile, the more I like it.
Check out "Foley" and "Dryad" "Big Jim's Bows" All these Guy's make great 3pc Longbows.
Also check out "Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear" and Lost Nation" For in stock bows. Jim Gainey, "Black Creek Bows" makes a super sweet Bow. Be sure to check his work out, Great shooting Bows!
There are a bunch of sponsors here that have a great variety in Bows and Gear.

Andy,
I am the same and love the best of both worlds! I love the way longbows limbs perform but tend to like my grip closer to that of a curve. A longer riser with some mass is very stable!
Check out St.Joe River bows, I think they will be exactly what your looking for.

You might look into Firefly bows as well, they are some of the smoothest shooting bows I have shot.

There are some great buys in the classifieds with no waiting. Most, if not all bowyers these days make R/D longbows with recurve-like risers, 1 pc and 3 pc.

This bow is 64 in brown glass, royal ebon and Bocate riser. brown glass single carbon. Its sold.
I build with a 24 inch riser plus power lam so you get the outer third of the limb working good and have extremely fast return. I adjust for the draw length with the poeer wedge and tip wedges. All actionboo cores on my Longbows.
Here is the last three piece . just shipped. this is my moderate d and r,.To view others go to website, God Bless you, Steve
