... a few months back I had a post pulled because I talked about " LOW POUNDAGE" It was ruled unfit...hmmm. I still disagree with ADM. But there are so many good people on here that I like to share with ..that I stayed.. Yes this is not a perfect site..by a long shot..but its good enough for me. Keep on sharing .... For the right reasons... I been in this life style for a bunch longer than most of you... I want to give back now !!! Thanks .. "just a Ol'Ohio Bowhunter !!!

After reading all of your comments I'm freshly awed by the caliber of Tradgangers.

I have thin skin and am the first to admit it.

Thank you.

I too recently had a perfectly good bow related tread pulled? The thead included pic's of my newly skinned limbs. I did some digging and found that that the bowyer that built my bow,(not a sponsor)here on TG and a bowyer that is a sponsor, had a dust up. All threads that include the name of the none sponsors bows got pulled.

I think there both fine gentlemen and it just so happens I have bows from both. One is a sponsor one is not!  Some that fit in a certain click can get away with posting anything they like, the rest of us can't!

I'd say "go" if you are unsure or need other men to ask you to stay. Gather around a campfire and a spark may hit you. so what - get over it.

Let it go and get a    :campfire:  and enjoy. Posts get pulled and life goes on. I have met to many folks on here that have become hunting and shooting partners to just throw it all away, you shouldn't either!!

Just seeing all this right now....

I'm not the one that closed your thread, but I will say it needed to be closed or even deleted.

I'm writing this in hopes that a lot of others(not just Juan) that have taken something like this personal in the past, and may have something closed/pulled in the future will read and remember this.....

Nothing personal at all Juan, but your post has nothing remotely to do with trad bowhunting....nothing. Juan I know you're a good fella, I can tell by your posts over time.

I just don't know why you'd(or anyone else) take something as trivial as a post being closed, so personal, and are actually thinking about starving yourself of all the enjoyment we get from this site that Terry/Rob created and everyday puts their heart and soul into.

Com'on Juan, it's not life or death...it's an internet forum bud. "Don't sweat the small stuff", there are way more important tasks in life to "worry about" than something like this on TG.

Starting a whole new thread complaining about it, and asking others to make up your mind for you to "stay or go"...doesn't help at all bud...just creates more "work" for administators and mods.

BTW.....

BMB, "socailist"...please think about what your writing before you click "add reply"...that's both very wrong and uncalled for!

Lately, with the wave of new people coming to Trad Gang, I feel there needs to be a review of what Trad Gang is about.........

Off topic threads can be one of a kind, or fit into a category. Here's a list of categories that are off topic for Trad Gang that have been problematic for a few months now......

E-B-A-Y/Auction sites/Sales alerts from non Trad Companies.

No target/olympic/field archery topics cept 3-D

NO Solicitations/Raffles/Auctions.

***** No Religious posts.****** THIS IS WHY YOURS WAS PULLED

No non bowhunting related pics.

No links to other message boards.

No canned hunt topics period.

No Personal Contact threads.(use search feature and email)

No Scam alerts.

No Throwing Hawks/Throwing knives, non hunting knives

No Bloggs/Myspace/Facebook/ and YouTube non-bowhunting/YouTube personal Channels are all off topic. (direct links to a YouTube video are fine as long as they are trad bowhunting related)

No non Bowhunting TV/Movie threads.

No non Trad Bowhunting equipment (compounds, crossbows, mech heads, lazer sites, guns, etc...or even pics)

No fishing threads.

No pics of road kills, or any other weapon kills, or any type of kills that are not done so with trad bows.

No animals killing animals clips, or any other non hunting clips.

We do ONE charity a year and that's St Jude Children's Hospital.  And we allow Compton and PBS to announce their raffles.  This is all we do, so please do not post any type of charity/fund raiser of any kind.

Again, those categories above are off topic, and will always be off topic unless we approve a specific thread for a needy reason. Please help us help you by keeping the site on topic...Trad Bowhunting.

Trad Gang is a special place, and to keep it a special place it takes work from everyone, including the members. Try and understand that when your post is pulled, it is NOT personal, we are only trying to be consistent and fair as we can for the site's sake. No need to get bent out of shape, no need to go bizerk or explode.

Think you are alone?....Think we play favorites?..here's a few folks that have had their posts edited or pulled....

Ron LaClair, Dean Torges, Gene Wensel, Barry Wensel, Biggie Hoffman, Charlie Lamb, and Don Thomas just to name a few....So, if you've had a post removed or edited, your in good company.

I've pulled my own post as well as had mods pull mine....so don't take it personal. We are just striving to keep the site on course and as established on day one.

Thanks for your consideration.

RLA (and perhaps others) ...

there are people and companies that spend money to sponsor trad gang.  their money allows me and you and everyone else to enjoy the benefits of a global trad archery campfire called 'trad gang'.

who is 'trad gang'?  it's the membership.  not just me or you, but *everyone* collectively.

'trad gang' has a responsibility to its sponsors.  without sponsors, there is no trad gang.  this is easy to understand, you would think.  but not to some people.  they think it's ok to hawk their wares *constantly*, for years and years and never offer a dime to trad gang - you and me and everyone else that enjoys this forum.

so, ask yourself this question - here you have two companies, both have fine products and both are selling well.  is it ok that one pays for their advertising and the other skates for free?

should you, a member of a free and public forum (trad gang), even care?
