I had a local guy come over today to pick up a rifle I had fixed for him, brought his 2 boys. Part of our local mennonite community. Dad didnt hunt much, but his nephews do, friends of mine and trad converts last year. Dad asked me where he could get two bows for his boys to start out with, 11 and 12 years old, big for their age, and would I help coach them a few evenings. I had to #40 fiberglass long bows and recurves, that I squared up, found a few arrows, made the boys a tab each and out we went. With some coachint they were hitting pie plates at 10 yards and were FIRED UP! They couldnt wait to get home and shoot some more, both of their faces lit up like Christmas morning. He paid me for the gun repair, and then asked what he owed me for the bows and tabs, arrows. I told him nothing, just glad to pass this on. This was made possible by a tradganger"DixieShooter" as he had sent me three bows for the shipping charge alone. I had given one to a 4H youth, and then these two today, thanks to his generosity. The generosity of you folks make things like this possible, and adds to our great and growing sport. Just wanted to share.
