It use to be legal here in Nebraska, but since they put a size limit on them, only legal take now is hand, net or hook and line.

Thanks for the input.  I am hopeful that this will strengthen the argument for.

We can bow fish and why not frogs.it states you have to follow the size and bag limits for the fish species if it aint listed it has no limit or it's not protected. So shoot it.Oh and the less attention you bring to what your doing the less attention you will have when your done doing it.

Originally I was told by a CO that I couldn't use a bow for frogs.  I called the head of the Freshwater Fisheries to confirm.  The specific language under the MEANS OF TAKE section for frogs and snapping turtles states "...spears, hooks, dip nets, traps or by hand..."

Accordingly I was told that I cannot use a bow for frogs.  Regardless of whether frogs are listed under bowfishing, the MEANS OF TAKE supercedes that.

Would a 40# bow be enough for a mature bull frog?    :D

As you know NJ has not found a way to make a lot of money from bow fishing yet, thats why the law is written the way it is.find a private pond and have some fun. When they figure it all out we will have to buy a buck stub for a male frog ,so they can make another $32.00 from us.   :coffee:

It is legal in OK. We can bowfish them, gig them, grab them, net them, and hunt them with a gun and spotlight. wildlifedepartment.com is where the regs can be found
