Having always been a wood guy...I own 2 Zippers, a Blacktail, a RER, Treadway and a Dale Dye ( selling ).  I wanted to try a metal bow so I bought a Gamemaster 2 with some reservations.  

Well let me tell you guys, these are fine shooting bows, very accurate, hard hitting, no stacking and they are not noisy at all if you do some tuning.  These are great bows...especially for the money.  I've only had mine a few days and it may be my hunting bow this season???  

I just wanted everyone to know that these are good bows, well worth the money!!!

Was there some sort of ingrained bias against them to start with?

I have had several metal riser recurves including a Hoyt GM II. They shot well and were good performers. That being said, the only one I still have is a PSE Coyote that's set up to bow fish. I just can't get used to the cold feeling and less than pretty looks. I like wood, wood is warm, wood is pretty, wood can be altered to fit your grip,wood is just nicer to me. Just excuse my rambling!!

Not a bow snob.

It's all about hitting the target.

If the bow allows you to do that, then it's good enough.

That being said, when I kill deer with a custom bow I do make sure to tell my cheapskate buds (who have more $ than me but won't take the custom bow plunge) how the venison tastes a little better

I have bows with risers made of wood, dymondwood, phenolic, machined alloy, cast alloy, and maybe a carbon riser soon. I like to shoot them all.

i bought a GM2 last spring to use as a target bow 35# limbs,needless to say I have an add in the classifieds now searching for some 60's to chase whitetail and bear this year. I love my bow any one that would bad lip the accuracy of them.

1. They have never shot one
2. They just cant shoot
or 3. they are a liar....lol

and like hookeye said its about hitting your target weather it be an animal or a 3d target, these bows just flat out preform....

I glad you like the GM II. I had a bow with a metal riser once. It was very accurate.

I have a Hoyt Gamemaster. It is a good bow, I keep it for bowfishing. I prefer another metal riser bow that has just been offered, Strickland "The Stick". It has replaced my wood riser customs I was planning to hunt with this season.

I like my Gamemaster II, Dorado and PSE Stalker..all metal risers. Feels really good in my hand.

I have some older wooden recurves (bear, wing & browning), and much prefer the metal risers.

i had a gamemaster for a week and sold it,but not because it didn't shoot good. it shot fine, i sold my blackwidow, bought it and missed my bw. there a good bow but they ain't no widow. i just couldn't afford both. it would have made a great bowfishing bow.

I have a 50# Nomad with an elevated rest I use for fish and cold, wet weather.  No complaints here.  I put a set of "no gloves" on it and I never need a tab.

djanko...if you really like Hoyt bows they will be unveiling one in Oct. with ILF limbs. According to Fred Eichler it outperforms its predecessors. I was able to see the prototype and really liked the small torque free grip.

Only had my gamemaster for 2 days, so we'll see.  Early reports are very positive.

They are awesome bows. I have owned quite a few customs: RER, Silvertip, Marriah, Rose Oak, Palmer, Assenheimer, Habu, etc. The only custom I like as well as my GM2 is the Habu. The GM2 may not be as pretty as some of the others, but it shoots better for me.
