What's a hunt like that cost?  Looks like a great time....except for the 3 foot lizard coming into camp.  I couldn't tolerate that at all.

Did you see any snakes?

That reminds me....damn near everything that crawls on that place can kill you deader than a doornail.

Congrats. From what I hear any scrub with a bow is a great trophy. That is one heck of a boar too.

Ragnarok Forge are you going with Mick?
Dave Bowers give mick an email you might be surprised at the costs.
L.E.Carroll, we do not eat the pigs as they will often feed on rotting flesh and may contain some nasties.
My bow is a widow psr V 58# @ 28", I'm shooting gt traditionals with 100 grain brass insert and an additional 40grns screwed into the back of the insert. I shot the pigs with a 125 grn Woodie supreme and the scrub bull used a 190grn supreme.
Nala I saw 2 tree snakes and some of the lads saw taipans their real nasty you take a hit from one of those and you don't come home.

The following morning and our last day  was spent looking for scrub bulls for a couple of the compound shooters and while driving about Mick suddenly stopes the car opens the door and while standing on the sill for height says there’s a nice Boar in that swamp, the compound boys and Mick jump out and begin to stalk the Boar.
I’m still sitting in the back of the 4x4 watching the stalk as the Boar slowly walks around the swamp with the hunters in toe, thinking he might sneak out the side and give them the slip I grabbed my bow and headed off at about 90 degrees to the others when I noticed them looking about I cast my eye into the thicker scrub and spotted the Boar walking towards where I was heading.
Getting the others attention I then started stalking in after him getting to about 15m I could only see his snout and front leg through the paperbark swamp trees as he was scratching about I drew and released and secured another fine Cape York Boar.

We all had another great trip with Mick and it was great to met some new friends and catch up with some old ones.
For those thinking of making a trip to the Cape give Mick at Trophy Bowhunts Australia call.

Awesome mate. Looks like a great time was had.

Mate most of the boars we saw were quite large some looked like 44 gallon drums with legs, all the hunting was along creeks and swamps which were drying up.

Cheers Mate

Thanks for posting. I take it that those are fresh water crocks? Do fresh water crocs have the man eating reputation that salties do? John

Great job Piggy, top place Cape York and obviously a great hunt mate.

P.S Freshies are fish eaters and pretty harmless for those who do not know but watch out for the salties that also live with the Freshies!!!!!
