Pick Another Spot
« on: August 27, 2010, 12:42:00 AM »
Finally found two arrows that were flying great. Not perfect but ready for a big Elk on monday.  Groups were roughly 6 inches at 25yards. No reason to change the spot I aim at right?  First arrow, bullseye, second arrow ... bullseye robin hood style.  Hurray,,, damn it, now I gotta make another arrow worthy of a big Elk.  I'm trying to stay with wood arrows but darn it if they aren't hard to get perfect(and if you do...).  With the field tips, no big deal. Those darn broad heads are tricky, its like starting over.  Oh well, I enjoyed the field tip journey.  I know, I need to reevaluate spine, weight, and all that stuff, but I got two days till I leave.  Maybe I will get lucky. My new training motto,,,,Pick Another Spot.

I'm glad things are going so well for you, even if it means more work making your arrows  :) .  Hope your trip goes well-I head out next Friday to start my elk quest.  Let me know how things go-good luck and be safe.
