Attaching CatWhiskers
« on: August 28, 2010, 05:11:00 PM »
I need some advice on attaching the new style CatWhiskers. The old style were easy to attach to the string, but, hard to seperate. These new style are easy to seperate, but, want to come untied while shooting. Is there a better way to attach them?

I just tie mine on with a piece of B50 wrapped around the center a few times and pull tight.I don't have any problems with them coming undone

Cut them 6" long, fold them over, and tie a real tight granny knot. Then have someone hold your bow with the riser on a bench, pull down hard on each side and cut to desired length with small scissors.

What Joe said, but moisten the catwhisker first and it will pull down even tighter. One of the best string silencers available.

I like cat whiskers because they work for me and they don't pick up burrs or get heavy with water droplets when it's foggy like puffs do.

I use a small plastic electrical tie around mine and that works very well. Stopped slipping after that and easy to take off and put back

I use the zip-tie method and love it!

Here is what I do with mine. These have been shot everyday for the last year. I also unstring the bow when I am done shooting and I haven't had a problem. I put them between the string and serve with dental floss or dacron with a little drop of loctite.
