and the wind...
« on: September 05, 2010, 08:09:00 AM »
huffed and it puffed and it blew my natural blind down! I would have loved to seen anyone try to "play the wind" yesterday where I was sitting. You would have ran round and round and threw up from dizzieness. I have a small thread tied on my bow and it was changing directions every few seconds. It also taught me that there is wind even when you can't feel it.

Opening day for Deer and Turkey was yesterday and it started off good but got wild and windy in a hurry. Soon as I got in my little blind and got situated I thought I was going to be attacked by a pack of coyotes that were going crazy just around the hill from me, I had my pistol ready to go! It was a good day as I seen some deer but they were behind me and out of range. I had a elk bugle about 50yards from me, and the turkeys were everywhere.

Gotta go to church this morning, but will be in the woods this afternoon.

anyone have any luck yesterday?

Awesome Day!! What area are you in? LBL? My son is at Fort Campbell and I know is missing the sound of Elk this time of year.

I am in southeastern Kentucky, Clay county. I live in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

I'm pumped for this evening!
