Backyard bucks
« on: September 05, 2010, 08:26:00 AM »
Last year I took a decent 8point with a longbow while watching my wife and little girls play in the hot tub from my stand that was actually put there for the wife to hunt out of while I was gone out west. This last week I pulled a trail camera from near the stand that had only been up 8 days, it had 79 pics and some of the bucks are super nice. I have several pics of a buck I call dagger, hes got 14 scorable points and about a 22" outside spread. If someone would like to post these pics for me I will email them to you and everyone can see my backyard bucks. This buck is a giant for around here and just to get to see him is cool. I hunted him last year with for sightings the last being dec. 28th and I have his 12point sheds that score just under 150.

For those interested Im about halfway between muskegon and Ludington mi. about 4mi from lake Michigan. The date and time on these pics is wrong and was not changed when I put the camera out. These pics are from last week. The largest buck is rare for this area especially since the pics were taken less than 300 yds form my house.

Very nice looking deer there.  I'm hunting both in Baldwin and Silver Lake this year.  Nice to know there are some big ones on the West Side too.

Here's what I found in my backyard today. Looks like I've got an instant watering hole with the kids pool.

If any of you guys have any problems with population control and feel like you need to practice sound herd management, I am up for a trip, lol.

Truely great bucks anywhere, but for Michigan, they are REALLY GOOD!!!

Jeff, could you hang a few leaves and limbs from that utility pole in the background there for me?  About 14' is where I like to hunt.  Oh, and maybe one of those nifty camo umbrellas too.  Thanks, brother!
