Good luck.  enjoy the North Maine woods.  No where else like it.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Unfortunatly, not much story to tell. I sat for 5 days , no bears. I sat on two different sites, both of which Wade had pictures of bears on them a the day before. I used good scent control and sat like a statue, no bears. There were 16 guys in camp and when I left Sat morning there had been 3 bears killed, 1 miss and not much else seen. The guys in camp had been comming there for years and this was the worst they had seen it. My luck for my fist pay hunt.   :knothead:
I had a good time meeting some great guys and eating good. I will say that the guides worked their butts off. Sometimes its just luck, I guess.

It turned out that that week was slow up the road at Hunter's Point. Only 3 bears taken during week 2. Last week was better but there were fewer hunters but I believe 4 were taken.

I hunted for a week in New Brunswick 2 years ago and had the same luck. It happens, that's why it's called hunting and not shooting.Next time it will be better.....
