I still hunted up a nice canyon this morning, 15 minutes into the hike I could see an Elk rump through the grass on the trail, I knocked an arrow and began the stalk..... 75 yards later I peeked around the pine trees to see this brute feeding along a spring creek. Had him broadside for quite some time, too bad he is in a spike or cow only unit for the tag that I have! It seems to always happen this way. I looped around and found his cows but could never get within shooting distance, our general season ends tomorrow, great way to end the hunt. He is a solid 7x7 bull that is still roaming the hills for some lucky guy with a bull tag in his pocket!!

Still a great experience to get that close to and get to watch a bull like that! Keep after it. Good hunting. I am hoping with the pts. I have that next year is the year I draw a LE tag in Utah!
