close encounters of the bear kind
« on: September 12, 2010, 08:36:00 PM »
It was raining off and on most of the day here in carolina,I decided not drive to the hunt club and risk a rain out. My nephew David, being young and eager, decided he would go back behind the house in a ground build I built for him. About 4 o'clock I recieve a text that was as following. OMG THERE's A BEAR 20FT IN FRONT OF THE BLIND HELP!!!!!!!. I read this and text back and forth a few times. I discover the bear is laying in the corn pile doing bear type stuff, completely unaware that david is even alive. I
tried hard to comfort david into beleiveing me that he would not infact be eatin at any moment. Wisdom comes with winters I guess. I did go to him at dark the bear had wandered off full and happy an hour or so earlier. That was COOL scarey but COOL! was his only statement upon my arrival.

A memory for the "quiver".

Tell David, bears will eat almost ANYTHING. To pass him up says something.  :D

Yea ferret He's ready to go back I think it eased his mind a bit when went and got him unarmed. He ask why I didn't have a gun or bow, I told him that bear is no danger to us, If he had known you where here he would've headed for another county.

How cool is this? Way!! I'd say...

Tell David he is way ahead of me. I've never had a bear in front of me in a blind or anything other than my car once..lol

Thanks for sharing.

God bless,Mudd
