Back from New Mexico
«
on:
September 12, 2010, 10:08:00 PM »
Just got back last night from 2 weeks in New Mexico hunting elk in Unit 52. We had a great time and saw a lot of animals but I just could not get close enough for a shot. Best elk hunt I have ever been on other than in Unit 76 in Colorado. Weather was good and did not see too many other hunters other than over the Labor Day weekend around camp.
Here is one of my partner in camp.

I didn't get to make it out west this year. But it is always a great trip even with just close calls. Glad you had good time.

Great rig. Good times & story. That's why they call it hunting & not killing. You appreciate the difference. That's transcendent.

Sounds like you had a good time and got to spend time hunting with a bow-it don't get better than that.

Thanks guys. We did have a great time and lost some weight too, which made the wife happy. My partner got dehydrated and was really feeling bad the last few days. I was afraid he was going to be in trouble after we hunted all day and he only urinated once at 7 that evening. I told him then that he better pour on the water but I think it was too late.

imhntn,
Where were you hunting in 52?
That looks like Brokeoff Mountain in the background.
I just got back this evening from 52 also.
