I'm primarily a chukar hunter and I bought the uninsulated elk trackers (I don't think they make them uninsulated any more). I only got one season of hunting and training out of them before the rimrock ate them to peices. Blew out the stitching on the nylon uppers side-hilling, and the soles were soft enough they didn't last long and weren't terribly comfortable on the sharp rock. I went back to my Danner Quarries. That said, they were a very light boot and before I destroyed them, were very comfortable. I think for something tamer like elk hunting, they'd have been fine.
