new to recurve shooting - what's the right lengthbow for me?

Hi guy's
i've been shooting a compound bow for a while now and have decided to take up trad shooting by buying a second hand TD recurve.
i have found a nice fox 64' bow and am keen to buy it but not sure whether it wil be right for me or not.
with my compound i have been shooting a 30.5 inch draw and stand roughly 6'1 tall.
How do bow lengths work in relation to the people buying them and what should i take into consideration?
I'm still new to the term
"finger pinch "
as i know the length of the bow and poundage affect this

Hey Matt: I like longer bows 60" or more. Finger pinch is less with longer bows. Is the Fox Bow a recurve or a long Bow?

One consideration for a hunting bow is where you will be hunting. The shorter bows work well out of tree stands and ground blinds. Try your bow out sitting on a stool. Also be aware your limbs can hit the tree limbs or stand rails if in a tree (don't ask). Perhaps a 60" bow would be a better compromise.

Hey Matt, As a starting Bow and Buying used that would be a excellent choice.
Nice Long limbs is more forgiving than the shorter Bows are.
What weight is the bow you are looking at @28"
Don't get to heavy to start with as you will develop Bad form. Drop poundage going to trad as there is no break Point and you have to hold the full weight.

I think that a 64" recurve would be a good hunting bow choice. You didn't menion draw weight however which would be an important factor for a beginner.

64" is a nice length for a tall shooter with a long draw. If the price is right and the #'s not to high it may be a good choice for your intro into the Traditional way of shooting.

Go with the 64 inch bow. I have a long draw and found long bows to be both very forgiving and to have no stacking or finger pinch of any kind. If you decide to tree stand hunt you can make the 64" work or go to a shorter bow once your experienced at shooting it.
Welcome to the gang. Be forewarned trad is addictive. I sold my last compound quite a while back.

thanks guy's
i ended up buying the bow and it;s on it's way.
i think the bow poundage was 55 at 30 inche's from memory.
question is. since my draw length is 30.5 with a compound and release aid. what will my draw length be shooting fingers with my new recurve?
here in australia tree stand aren't very popular all my hunting is done free chase.
thanks
