Morrison ILF Question
« on: September 17, 2010, 07:06:00 AM »
Hello all,

I have just purchased a, new to me,  Mini 14 riser and had a question for those familiar with Morrison ILF bows.

More specifically, what types of limb combinations have you tried and what worked best?

Unfortunately Bob's limbs are out of my price range so I would be interested in the some of the other combinations people have been using.

thanks,
    Tom.

I have a 17" Morrison ILF riser,I picked up a used set of Hoyt G3 carbon foam limbs for $225.They were 46# shorts which made a 58" bow.The limbs are rated at 46# on a 25" riser so on the shorter riser they weigh around 54#.Dryad bows has some nice ILF limbs.

Limbs I tried

Morrison Longbow ILF Carbon/Foam, "F", The very best so far. Most expensive.

Sky Recurve ILF Maple Core, Actionwood veneer, medium length. I thought they very smooth, quiet. Bought them used here on TD.

Sky ILF Longbow, medium length, Bamboo core. Bought them from Sky. Cost me 400.00. Really great limbs, very smooth, very quiet but not as fast as the Morrison limbs.

For me the Morrison limbs are performing the best on my Mini 13. But for what it's worth if I only had the Sky longbow limbs I'd be perfectly happy.

I have on order and I should get them next week, a pair of  long Tradtech Carbon Black Max recurve limbs. If they perform as well as they are priced, they should be a slam dunk winner in comparison.

I bought a set of sky recurves from Bob Morrison.  They are $250 New.  I love them.  He can get them quick too.  Give Bob a call.  Oh, and save up for the Morrison limbs,  they are my first pick.

You would be hard pressed to find a better limb than the Dryad Epic.  I have a set on a mini 14 and they perform great. I also have a set of Morrison Carbon, Foam core limbs, very nice as well, but twice the cost.
