New compound to longbow convert?
« on: September 19, 2010, 07:00:00 PM »
Had a buddy come over this afternoon to shoot a little. I showed him all my longbows and, of course, he loved them. We went out to the target and he shot his compound a few times and he marveled at the quietness of my Shrew. After shooting a few targets I said, "Let's go have some fun."

I went inside to get my new-to-me Roy Hall Caddo that is a little lighter weight than my Shrew for him to shoot. Went out behind my house where they're doing some construction and did a little stumpin'. He was amazed at how well he could place his arrows for the first time to shoot a longbow. Lots of fun and he MAY be ready to convert over to the real archery world.     ;)

Been there....thanks to fellow trad ganger I am now hooked on traditional gear...last compound left the house two weeks ago.  Been shooting a longbow for the past three months.  Shooting traditional takes me back to my child hood.  I have'nt been this excited about deer season in quite sometime!

Good job cuz.  I can't wait to shoot that caddo in a couple of weeks, after we clean a deer or two of course.

How cool is this? Way! I'd say...

Good on you bubba!!

That sometimes all it takes is for someone to offer up their bow to be shot.
