Need help picking bow for child
«

I am a newbie that has been shooting a trad bow for only a few years now. I have two young children (age 6 and age 10)that I want to get started shooting traditional bows. I have never had experience with traditional youth bows. I welcome any and all advise. I want to get them started the right way. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Try this link and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. My uncle bought one of these for his boy.

Dave Windauer from Schafer bows makes a KILLER little longbow for kids. Its not listed on his website so many don't know about them. I've had three made for my kids and have since sold them as my kids grew. I made my money back each time. Very tough little bows!

I've got 3 kids that are shooting longbows. Two are using bows from Black Rhino, and my oldest daughter is shooting a MaMaddog. My 5 yr. old son shoots the M35, and it seems to fit him well. My 8 yr old girl shoots the M48 lite. They are tough little bows and not very expensive. The longbow from Maddog was more money, but the craftmanship is excellent, and the bow shoots very well. You cannot go wrong with either of those.

3rivers archery has some nice and affordable recuves and longbows for youth in their catalog. They look well made and are not the WalMart type youth bows but actually nice looking setups. They even have package deals with all accessories as well. Good luck

Before you buy one, check out the kids bow from Legends Bows (website on sponser list). He makes a great kids bow for the money. Here is a post from the introduction:
