Pistol Grip Howard Hill
« on: May 20, 2007, 02:45:00 PM »
I saw at their website that they offer a pistol grip in additonal to straight and dished grips. Anyone have a picture, and how does it shoot. I am thinking of getting a 70" WS or a Black bear with carbon.

You mean the locater grip? I don't think it is a full pistol grip.

OK just got off the phone with HH shop locator is same as Ont's bow above. I was asking about ordering a WS but I may wait as rumour has it that a new special edition is coming out soon. Soroco, named after who's boat?

Errol Flynn's boat of course. Where Howard shot sharks and marlins.

Just got my Wesley Special in the mail today. It has the locator grip too.  Not sure how I am going to be able to shoot it though, as it has a normal adult grip and I have these damn "women's" hands ;-(

I may be headed for the custom route after all.

I will post pics shortly.

Shot my WS last night with the lcoator grip.  While the grip is a little large for my small hands, I could not miss with it.  The only reason I stopped shooting was it got dark and the mosquitoes nearly ate me alive ;-)

I will want to try a traditional, straight handled Hill though.

RASP, SANDPAPER, CA GLUE, and a LEATHER GRIP!!!  WALAAA!!  You can make the one you have fit you with a little sweat equity.  It is MUCH easier than you would think.

I would have the heart or the skill to take any of those tools to this beautiful piece of ebony ;-)

I did what Carbon Caster said to mine. It was easy and worked fine. But I'm sure Craig Ekin would be pleased to have it done for you at a very reasonable cost. I recommend that. Get that fine bow altered just as you wish it to be. Then love it for life! LBG

bottom bow. mid-80's big five.  I shot and recovered 12 straight Texas whitetail in a row before I retired the bow.  67#@28" 68".  Twice I pinned tom's to the ground so securely that they died on stop they were shot.

I was hunting on a farm that had a Mexican familhy as resident care takers.  The kids called the bow La Tadro (the drill) because I shot some amradillo for Mama Chappa to make 'dillo and chilles.

I have a Tembo with the locator grip and really like it. I took the leather off and finished the grip smooooth, I love the feel of wood in my hand more than leather.

Rusty, it should be Taladro.

Good shooting.

God bless,
