Challenger Recurve
« on: September 24, 2010, 02:33:00 PM »
A friend just gave me a Challenger (by Morris) recurve he picked up at the Flea market for $30.00. This bow is in near mint condition as far as I can tell. I don't think the sellers knew what they had. Anyway I am asking for any and all information folks can provide about these bows. This bow is marked 49#@30" SCR# 575 and is aproxematly 66" long. Also what would be a good place to start for brace height? Thank you all for any information you may provide.

Although I don't have a 66" Challenger recurve, I do have two 66" take-down recurves and the recommended brace height (per my bowyer) is 7 3/4"-8". For his one-piece 66" recurves he recommends a brace height between 7 1/2"-8". This should give you a starting point. I'm sure others will add more info when they read your post.

With the vast amount of knowledge on this site, I find it hard to believe that no one has any information about bows by Morris and the Challenger. Any one?
