Any Buckeyes score yet?
« on: September 27, 2010, 11:36:00 PM »
I got out in the stand on Sunday morning, our second day of the season. Around 8:30 a.m. I looked through the pine trees and saw the biggest buck i've ever seen on the hoof. He was only 35 to 40 yards away in the pines and coming right for my shooting lanes. I was in a ladder stand leaning back against the tree, and in my excitement I stood up too fast and the bark caught in my treestand harness and tore off a piece. The buck stopped, hearing the bark fall and looked in my direction for a few minutes before deciding something wasn't right and headed back the way he came. I was so excited, but learned a valuable lesson about "buck fever".I'll be back at it this weekend though for sure! Anyone able to seal the deal?

Yep those big boys learn real quick not to be curious about anything.  Encounters with them sure do make for good memories tho.

I shot a nice doe Saturday evening but haven't been back out since. Getting ready to have some eggs and tenderloin here shortly...    :)

Might as well add a pic too.  53# JD Berry Taipan, Heritage 150, Grizzly 190.

I killed a doe Sunday afternoon. I hunt with a Tree's Custom Shadowcast 1 pc recurve. She has an osage handle and cores with black walnut limbs. 64" long and 52 @ 28. Vapor carbons and Zephyr Scirroco heads. Cut it up into bite size portions last night.

I got layed out by a nasty cold my little one brought home from school.  Worst part is, my Dad came in from out of state to hunt with me for the first time in OH. Still trying to shake it off and get out there.

Excellent Neighbors! I'm mad right now as I sit here at work thinking about this weekend off! I can't wait until they fix the computer at the powerball office and give me my winning ticket!
