I have an over the shoulder wool bag from Teresa Asbell.  I'm taking it on a bear hunt Friday.  I loaded it up with goodies and it holds quite a bit.  I'll report when I return.  I should have pictures by then too.

It's not on their website yet.  It's like a double shooting pouch but made from wool with a nice wide nylon strap.

The wool will be very quiet in the woods.         todd

I guess it depends on how much you carry, but I use a possibles bag. I carries everything I need for a morning or afternoon hunt, slings over the shoulder and is out of the way. Another idea is a discarded purse out of good leather or wool. Put a strap on it and it carries a lot of stuff.

I agree with lost arra. I worry about wind more than noise. But on the subject of packs I want comfort the most. After many tries I use the bison gear lost river in buck suede.I use buck suede because of the warm temp in Louisiana.Wool and fleece are too hot. The lost river is super comfortable, I think it is tops.

I have had a few packs including the bison gear wool pack, day one fleece pack, cabelas whiteail pack & a few more. The day one is hands down quietest I have. It is pretty small & the shoulder straps stink, but it is easy to get access to stuff & really super quiet.

Thank you fellas.  Once again, all good opinions here.  You guys are an excellent knoweldge base built upon real world experience, (my favorite kind).

Looks like the general consensus is either material made from Berber or wool or both.  I have to say I'm leaning toward that Bison Gear brand but I want to retrofit the pack bag onto  my pack frame.  I'll probably  design some type of wool covering to go around the bars of the pack frame to quiet them also.  I need to check out that Day One system as well before acting though....

Thank you to all the responses....  :campfire:

I have been very happy with a Bison Gear pack, it is still new looking and I bought it about 15  years ago when they were Pack Idaho. Wool and quiet.
