I think Dave Bulla has it pegged - like "cokes" and "kleenex" - different things to different folks - with no bad intentions involved.

I fully agree with my good friend Mike G. about the TG sponsors - however if 2fletch (from right here in Mebane, NC) can provide me with one right here where I can see, feel, touch, etc., I'd be a fool not to - and save shipping as well. Bue also made me a very kind offer but it is from his personal limited stash so I told him to let me check around first. Thanks, guys, I'll PM or e-mail 2fletch. Good luck to the rest of you also.

Dave's right.  The SLICKNESS is the dead give-a-way!  If it feels almost like plastic, then it is the real McCoy!

I have a whole horse cheek of it and I guard it better than they do Fort Knox!  And, NO, I won't spare any of it!

Mike g and Herb43, I agree. Anytime you can, you should support the sponsers on Tradgang. That's why Eagle's Flight Archery became a sponser on Tradgang a while back.

I've always been impressed with cordovan leather, but only a year or so ago decided to start using it.  We were already making a split fingers tab and a 3 under tab from cowhide and sharkskin. Needless to say, I was pleased with how well it works for tabs and sideplate/rests.

(I don't blame you, 8th, souynds like a good plan to protect any stashes one has these days.)

I'm not sure I believe that there aren't enough horses butts to go around!!!!  There seem to be quite a few around here, not to mention Washington, D.C.

Dave, I think that you're right about that, there's  plenty of horse butts around. The problem is that there aren't enough tanneries.

Thanks for the tip Mike. I just ordered 2 tabs from Alaska Bowhunting Supply. Should last me a lifetime  :bigsmyl:  Have always made my own but never had a cordovan tab.
