Little Delta
« on: September 29, 2010, 10:30:00 AM »
I'm part way thru reading (re-reading) Bows on the Little Delta. There were a couple of hand drawn maps included in the book so I thought I'd take a Google maps trip and see if I could find the location of the trappers cabin they hunted out of. I think I found it.

For those interested in seeing the kind of country Glenn St Charles, Fred Bear and company hunted in the late 50's go to Lat 63.49.00 Long 147.24.00. I believe the cabin was just east of the river junction at that location.

Contact Wright Air Service in Fairbanks, they flew Joe St Charles and Ron Sherer in to the cabin when they went in search of items for the Pope and Young club. Wood River drainage south of Fairbanks.

That is about 70 miles from my home, as the Raven flies.  Even closer for a few of the others on the forum.
Best Wishes
