Removing superglueglue
« on: September 29, 2010, 11:19:00 AM »
OK, I HAVE run a search, but is there any solvent that might help take off the superglue from my professionally-fletched arrows?  I've tried nail polish remover and it doesn't seem to help.  Could I just get them reasonably smooth and put a wrap over the end to refletch, or is this a problem waiting to happen?

Thanks.

acetone is the base solvent for most CA removers

The subject of this thread had me thinking the very worst.

But yes, acetone usually does the trick.

Acetone does it but be careful, it has benzene in it.  It is not the healthiest stuff to breathe or bathe in and it blows up real good when you least expect it.  I had some go off with a static spark from a wool sweater.

Hobby shops sell a release agent for them.  Works well to get it off of your fingers.
