Bob Lee Dark Archer Bow Owners... I Need You Guys!
« on: September 29, 2010, 10:21:00 PM »
Alright, I am feeling the fever again... I NEED another Bob Lee. Ever since I shot one of their 58" Dark Archers at Denton, I've had the itch like crazy.

I think a WTB post is in the near future on the classifieds, but before I jump the gun I'd like some insight into you actual owners or former owners of one of these pretty bows... Heck, even if you shot one once chime in! More the better!

I have 2 58" Bob Lee take-downs, and both are durawood. I like the extra weight in the hand, and I think thats why I'm drawn to the DA for the one piece...

Anyhow, any info would be great, and pictures too if you have them handy would be real cool!

Thanks guys!
Matt

I have not shot the Bob Lee one piece bows, but do have 3 Bob Lee TD longbows, a 62" brown hunter 47# @ 28", a 62" brown hunter 50# @ 28" and a 64" Signature 45# @ 28". I also have a Bicentennial recurve that I am planning on having some long bow limbs built for and my old Bob Lee Classic that I had made back in 1995 that started my journey with these great bows. They are all super sweet shooters, I am always suprised that I don't see more Bob Lee shooters on tradgang. Bob and his son Rob are the only 2 that turn out these fine bows, and there is no one more friendly that I have talked to than JJ at Lee archery when it comes to helping me out with anything I need from their shop. I am having a set of my old limbs refinished by them right now, that they are also re tillering to 3 under. They are a super custom bow shop to work with, and I see many more Lee bows in my future, darn, now you have me thinking about a one piece...how am I going to sneak that in the house!  :)

64" BobLee Classic TD LBow 57# @ 32 1/2
64" BobLee BCentenniel TD RCurve  53# @ 32 1/2"
Always looking for BobLee Long Bow or RCurve Limbs, 64" 40# to 50#.

Hahaha, well in my case it is a Dark Archer, so here in PA, as long as I wait until after 8:00 p.m. my wife shouldn't be able to see that black beauty in my hand!!!

I couldn't agree more about Bob, Rob, and JJ... Top notch fellows. And top notch bows...

Anyone else out there have some Dark Archer info, experiences, or just plain comments and pictures they want to post?!

I recently got a great deal on TG and purchased a 51# 60" DA. The grip is just a bit narrower at the throat than the Signature elite takedown that I have, but I really like that and wish the takedown had this grip. The workmanship is excellent and the bow shoots well. Surprisingly to me, it is not all that heavy, but still quite calm in the hand when shot. The deadness at the shot is there but the weight doe's not seem to be substantially heavier than most woods.
For me so far it really performs well, but I wish the draw weight was lighter, I really am not used to much more than 45 or so and I draw about 54# out of this one. I think you won't be dissapointed if you get one.

I know there are some on the BL web site, but that is not the  same.
