even in stands using chain instead of cables, be sure to inspect the bolts and connection points.
Be careful what type of bolts you use to replace with, check with the manufacturer, as some of the hardware store grade bolts are too soft for the stress of a treestand aplication.

Same goes for cables. Not all are created equal.
