Oklahoma Success
« on: October 04, 2010, 03:59:00 PM »
Oklahoma bow season opened on Friday, and I was able to sit a stand friday night. Had a Doe and twin fawns come in, but didn't feel the shot, so I didn't.

Saturday morning, saw 6 does, 4 fawns and 2 bucks, all at about 60 yards. No shootin, but a great way to spend a morning.

Had my buddy snap a digital picture of me in my treestand, but it was a very old camera, only takes about 0.05 megapixels so it didn't come out to well.

Saturday evening, had a Doe come in about 5:00 pm, she was really goosing and never gave me a shot. Left me looking at this.

At about 6:00, she either came back or one that looked just like her came in. I had to stand still for 15 minutes before she finally gave me a broadside shot.I waited my obligatory 45 minutes and was on the trail. This is what I found at the end.

So right now I am one happy camper, nothing like early season success to build the confidence.
Here's my ugly mug with this years chicken fried steaks in the makin.

Good luck to you all in the coming season.
Chris Rice

Lol, love the primitive photography. Congrats on that nice doe. Never tried chicken fried steak with venison, I'll have to give that a try.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Nice work. Can I ask what your draw length is? Those arrows look like they are 4' long.

KentuckyTJ: The widow is a 60 inch SA, so that may be why they look long. They are 30.5 inch arrows, gold tip 55/75 (Blems from Big Jims) with 100 grain brass inserts and a 145 grain magnus 2 blade.
I draw 29 inches and the bow is about 48# at 29 inches.
Thanks everyone for your kind words!
Chris
