Quiet Grizzly
« on: October 10, 2010, 05:04:00 PM »
I bought a 67 Grizzly off **** last year.It looked like a new bow, shoots great 45#@28.It has always been LOUD.I tried adjusting the brace from 7 1/2 -9" ,very little difference ,took off fur silencers and made some wool puffs, helped a little still too loud..Killing time today I decided to get serious.I made a new B55 string,16 strands, new woolly silencers,EUREKA!I know the heavier string slows the arrow but what good does the extra few fps do if the bow goes thump or twang every shot.I like my Longbow on the ground but the 58" Grizzly is better for stand hunting.

Heavy arrows helps as well. I had the same problem with Kodiak Supreme till I went heavy.
