I feel your pain I had my toughest year yet on deer. The deer were there but I wasn't when they were. I went days without seeing deer when in past years it was not uncommon to see 10 to 20 bucks in a day. And when I didn't see them I just spooked them. Now my cow elk hunt has started I have seen alot of good bucks,some in easy bow range. I guess it's the way it is sometimes. Good luck and I hope your season gets better.

I'm having better luck. This morning was my 16th hunt of the season (been open since Sept. 4th). This morning's hunt was just the 2nd one I didn't see any deer. I'm averaging a deer in bow range about every 2nd hunt. I'm not seeing many  bucks (4) and only one I would have liked to take home. I passed the shot on him because it was quartering towards me at 23 yards and then in cover. I've hunted 13 AM and 3 PM. Evenings are just hotter than I want to sit on stand right now.

Now... this is a real live no kidder.

We had a 5.3 earthquake here in central Oklahoma the other day. You wanna talk about acorns on the ground? You oughta see 'em! They are nearly ankle deep in the tire ruts down the backroads.

If we weren't in a serious dry spell the deer wouldn't even have to stand up all day long. At least they have to move to get a drink.
