This morning my son and I seen about a dozen deer. The button buck below was right under our stand (he was there to video). I decided to let it walk since it was a buck.

Later a nice, lone, doe came in and winded us before I could get the shot off. She was at 10 yards or so.

Hopefully I'll have pics tonight of one on the ground.

Good luck,
Wayne

Only seen two this evening... and the button in the above pic was one of them. There are so many acorns in our area that the deer don't have to move far for food. The little button buck stayed around all afternoon and evening... move around and eat some, bed and chew the cud awhile... get up and move around a little... etc. etc.

Maybe next week!

Good picture Wayne. I never saw a deer today, we have heavy mast also. From acorns, wild grapes, wild cherry, everything's loaded. The farm I hunted has an old orchard and apples are wasting on the ground where usually the deer keep cleaned up. It seems to be pretty well state wide.

I did see many squirrels and 12 turkeys. Of course I had a shot or 2 at the turkeys as season won't be open until next week.

We did see a nice buck on the way to dinner tonight about 1/4 mile from the house.

No deer but had a good day.
