top this feather burner adventure
« on: October 19, 2010, 11:04:00 PM »
I drive a truck all around the country and I used to carry staves, bow making and arrow making tools along in case I got stuck with no load over a weekend. One weekend I was stuck in PA and I had glued up a couple doz arrows and I needed to burn the feathers, so I walked around the truckstop looking for a plug-in I found one around the corner from the big roll up door for the truck shop ( troubles a brewing ) and comenced to burn feathers. The wind must have been just right and it blew the smell into the truck shop where they emediatly thought somthing was burning up. They threw the main power switch to the t/s and evacuated the place and called the fire dept.finally a guy came around the corner just as I was burning my last arrow. You would have thought he caught me in the act of murder He emediatly summoned the manager who was even worse. no amount of explaing would do. So I causualy walked of got in my truck and left. I yeilded to the fire truck as it was coming in.

First thing I did was wonder if Curtis had changed his handle...

Jeez, you'd think people would recognize the smell of burning feathers and do a little investigating before screaming.

Kasper,

After living in MT for a number of years, learning the local ND jokes, seeing where you hail from, y'know what is right there temptin me to say...

...but I won't.  :)  That is just too funny! Nothing like living up the PA scene! Good for you!
