I got the chance today to stop in at Old Master Crafters.  I live close enough I don't know why I hadn't stopped sooner.  I met John at a shoot over the summer and got to talkin'.  I was looking for some wood for two knife blanks I had aquired.  He said to stop in and he could help me out.  Wow!  His shop seemed to go on forever.  The best part, the fall chill was taken out of the air by his wood burning stove he had goin'.  :campfire:    He showed me the glue up's he does, all his wood, veneers and raw staves.  He's been at this bow building business for 35 years he said.  Unfortunately he also said if things don't start to pick up, economy wise, he may be finished.  Man, what a stash of wood this guy has.  I'd recommend this gentlemen for any wood needed for bow building, knife making or any project really.  He's got a ton to offer.  If anyone lives near or travels through Waukegan IL. you should stop in for sure!

It would be a shame to see him go out of business. Hap
