I finished my first bow 7 pics

Its Hop Hornbeam (ironwood) pulls 40# at 26" It could have used a little more time be tillered but I didn't want it to come in at less than 40#. I backed it with chicken snake I skinned myself. I made the tip overlays and arrow tip tassel ends from whitetail antler. I went with a black grip and strike plate and laced it with 3 pieces of black & white serving thread braided together. Tell me what you think good and bad.......Ron

Top looks a little weak compared to the bottom and is that a small hinge in it? Sharp looking bow though and for a first one very nice.

Shakes I cut 2 small V shaped pieces of leather one piece smaller than the other. Each was about 1/8th" thick I then super glued them together.

Vermonster the top is weak near the fade because with my lack of knowledge I was trying to get to the next ring to make it look better. It won't happen again. about 12" from the top tip there is a large knot
