Tent Pegs from Carbon Express.....
« on: November 02, 2010, 06:27:00 PM »
...in cooperation with me    ;)

Made these out of two damaged shafts, some old inserts, field points, pieces of an old 2016 shaft for bushings, screws and some washers.
They are realy durable and will be a christmas present for an archer who has everything else.

What you think of them?
I gotta admit though, not my idea, saw the idea somewhere else.

Regards

Great idea.  Did you just use an 8-32 screw to hold the washer on the top?

No, ive used regular inserts with a fitting screw on top. I use brass inserts for my arrows so those were still laying around. But for the next set i plan on trying something different because i dont have any regular inserts left, I will try glue-in points also next time to reduce cost.

Now that is an excellent idea!! Lightweight and I always have pieces of broken shafts lying around... Looks like another winter project I'll have to tackle

Good idea.  Just for laughs, fletch them with 3" plastics.

I saw a guy that cut his golf clubs up and used the head end for tent stakes.  Must have had a rough game.

Have you actually beat some of these into some hard rocky ground then pull them back out with a shovel(more leverage). I have broke, bent or otherwise destroyed some pretty heavy duty stakes over the years, Its one item that if it fails when you need it can make for a misserable hunt.
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!
