Gotta wait to sit a new stand...
« on: November 04, 2010, 04:20:00 PM »
Anybody else get all antsy feeling when you hang a stand in a new spot that you have a good feeling will be a productive place, but you know you need to give it a couple or three days to let the scent and whatnot fade some?  I just hung another stand and I'm wanting to get on it, but I know better.  I figure I'm not the only one.

Oh well, it's not like I don't have five or six other spots up, not to mention ground hunting anywhere.

Im the opposite of you, I hang it and hunt it that day. That way when they come by wondering what that odor is I can shoot them. If Im not there when they smell and they dont come back, Im done. Just my personal philosophy is all!

I sometimes hunt it the same day if I feel it's a hot spot, maybe dead in a couple of days.

Same day I leave my stands out in the yard and my clothes in a bag with leaves. I smell like the woods so I am not worried about them smelling anything. You can always hang it when the wind would be in your favor and then hunt it that day same wind.
