Arwin, you need to take that big red santa suit off. They all think you are going to make them pull a sleigh next month.

Was the wind blowing towards them?
You look WAY up high.

Are the deer walking uphill towards you?
Sorta looks like that. If so their eyes might be naturally pointed at you.

I've got a stand in a spot that is a death trap....as long as the wind is blowing steady out of the West or NW.   Hunt it with the wind coming from any other direction and you're a double loser.

So, taking the advice of the local weatherman who said the winds were NNWly, I perched in my stand this morning and had a monster buck walk within 30 yards of me.    He hide is real dark and at first I thought he was a black angus heifer.   Guess...just guess....what the stinking wind did when he was NNW of me?      You got it....the stinking wind blew my mojo right into his nose and he hit has backtrail.

Maybe next time.....lol

I can add to the list too. Finally had a big fat doe come in tonight, under 15 yds, everything perfect Had to stand up slowly to shoot, and when I did the seat on my brand new $250 climber squeaked. End of story. Needless to say, im not very happy with my treestand right now. I dont have video, but even if I did i'd have to seriously edit the audio!
...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......

We have to thank our new crossbow laws for that one! Public land deer in my area are about as skiddish as they come and now it's worse.     :scared:     You have to throw everything you have at these critters if you want to get one. They naturally look up now at the slightest hint of danger.

I was high up on a slope, the deer walking parallel with it. Wind in my favor. I think I may have moved a little too much but at that point she was looking away and focused on something else.

Ahhhh....the joys of deer and their 6th sense!!    :knothead:     Thanks for the replies!!    :biglaugh:
