Practice during the season.

Preseason you practice, sight-in using field point then you tune your broadheads.

Question:

• How often do you sight-in, practice duing the season?
• Do you check the flight of your broadheads during the season?
• Do you not want to dull your broadheads so if my field point fly right my broadheads must be okay.
• As long as I don't bump my bow there's no need to check it out anymore.
• I keep checking it cause I just love shooting anyway.

Broaheads shoot the same, I have several that I use for practice which I do before I go on the hill to hunt. Yes I shoot from the porch before daylight with the porch light .I stump shoot often also .

1. I shoot every day during the season. Right before evening hunts and the night before all morning hunts.
2.I have a few older broadheads that I use for shooting periodically.
3. Again, shoot older heads so you don't have to worry about sharpening them.

#1 - I still practice almost daily
#2 - I periodicly use a broadhead to check arrow flight.
#3 - Broadheads can be sharpened, and gives me an excuse to sharpen them all over again.
#4 - No matter, we still are shooting
#5 - Always keep checking, and yes I love to shoot my bow all the time.

Once I get my broadheads, field tips, and stumping heads hitting to the same spot, I just make note of the nock and brace heights.  I then just shoot.  I still practice during the season, but it's always only one arrow at a time and either stumpshooting or shooting at tennis balls thrown around the yard.

I check my broadhead flight occasionally, using a dull practice head.  I could probably get by without doing that, but it's good piece of mind.  

I don't think you can bump a trad bow out of tune.

i shoot an arrow from my stand before i get out,i always leave before it gets to dark so not to spook anything coming out of the woods.days i dont hunt i shoot many arrows from tree stand in backyard

I shoot judo's in the woods while hunting and any time no game is in sight. Have targets set up at "camp" and yes shoot broadheads on occasion--carry a file to resharpen--relaxing way to pass time!!

I carry a judo and shoot everyday, ideally several times while moving around. Never seems enough, especially during this time of year.

Other than the fact that I shoot a broadhead every so often during the season, my routine doesn't change. My practice is the same - nearly every day- in season as it is off season.

Stump shoot on my way back to the truck after the morning hunt, shoot in the back yard about every day. Not much different from off season.

I shoot alot! I love it! Year round. I dont do much broadhead practice after the beginning of the season. I probably shoot 2 broadheads a week durring the season just for piece of mind.

I shoot the same amount all year long.  Nearly everyday. If my brace height is good my field judos and broadheads shoot the same.  My bow gets bumped all the time when hunting.  Its not a compound so it doesnt effect it.

I still shoot but maybe 4 arrows only unless I am screwing up and then I'll take time to get it right. If my first two arrows are where I want em I stop right there. For confidence I always end on a good note.

I shoot every day during the season, on days I hunt I shoot before I go out. I have extra arrows made up identical to my hunting arrows including broadheads, if I'm going to be hunting out of my pop up I shoot sitting and through a piece of mesh I have in the cellar, in daylight I shoot from an elevated stand. I leave nothing to chance when it's crunch time.

I wont go hunting without shooting at least a half dozen arrows just to prove to me I can. No other good reason. I usually run out back prior to leaving and shoot a few, or turn my truck lights to the target and fire a few in the a.m. on my way to hunt. I know I can go out cold and shoot fine, but my mind needs to know that as well. so I fire a few to settle it. I sound like a crazy man????

I carry a judo arrow and shoot on my way to the stand in the afternoon, and on the way back in the morning. I shoot my judo from the stand before I get down. That's enough to keep my eye sharp and my muscles tuned.
